Whoever holds the Talking Stick has within his hands the sacred power of words and commands the attention of everyone in the assembly. This talking stick is rich with symbolic and inspirational meaning. The eagle represents courage, the wolf, new ideas and wisdom. The feather of the turkey - the "peace eagle" - inspires a peaceful attitude and the give-and-take necessary to resove disputes. The fluffs are a reminder that words must come from the heart. Each talking stick is individually hand carved from yellow cedar by Native wood carver Henry Pelletier and artisans of the Ojibwa Nation.
