Canada's First Nations artists are inspired by the imagery and techniques of their ancestors, often blending the old traditions with a new contemporary vision. Here are a few of the many wonderful designs we are proud to represent. They represent traditions from the northwest coast of British Columbia, Haida, Ojibwa, Cree, and Inuit peoples of Canada.

Pewter Plates, Native design

Our finely detailed plates are cast in solid pewter and hand finished.
The design on these plates is referred to as a "panel pipe" design and is based on the Native people's ceremonial panel pipe used during special celebrations. If you look closely, you can see many of the mythical figures featured in West Coast Native stories and legends including: raven, whale, thunderbird, beaver, bear and frog.

Cheese Board Sets - Northwest Native Designs

These uniquely designed cheese boards are available in two styles (one featuring a pewter inlay) and two sizes. Inspired by the traditional argillite stone carvings of the Haida people, our boards are cast in high quality black resin with maple wood inset.

Haida Feast Bowls

Licensed reproductions of original Haida argillite carvings from the Canadian Museum of Civilization's Haida G'waii Collection, these bowls are authenticated by a pewter medallion embedded in the bottom of each piece.
Traditionally, the feast bowl represented the abundance of bounty enjoyed by the Haida people, which they celebrated by carving elaborate designs of the most respected animals in native lore. The frog was a Guardian symbol; the beaver represented hospitality, as well as industry and creativity. Enclosure cards tell of the history or mythology represented in the work.

These lead-free pewter plates bear finely etched designs known as panel pipe designs, based on the Northwest Coast natives' ceremonial panel pipe used in special events. Inspired by the traditional argillite stone carvings of the First Nations peoples of the Northwest Coast, these salt and pepper grinders are cast in a high quality resin made from recycled glass. The ceramic grinding mechanism combined with the stainless steel post and cap makes these grinders suitable for salt, pepper or herbs. Kitchen tested by a Marriott Executive Chef, these grinders will provide long lasting enjoyment.
