About the Artist
Textile artist Yasmine Louis creates an exciting line of romantic and amusing pillows. The passionate sayings and seductive images which she prints on richly coloured satin offer friends and lovers a unique way to express their feelings.

"Oh can you please seduce me one more time I love it when
you seduce me just one more time."

There are even pillows suitable for those experiencing romantic angst.

"Love really hurts. I can't believe someone would do this to me
after everything I gave."

Of course, not all break-ups call for a consoling pillow. At a recent craft show, a woman wanted to buy a gift for her sister who was in the middle of a divorce. The woman discovered one of Yasmine's pillows with garters on it that read, "She was ready for anything" and she picked it up right away.

Yasmine decided to make pillows while she was an artist in residence at the Crafts Studio at Harbourfront Centre. While there, she and a friend put together their "Dirty Pillow Show" which led her to discover her true passion and launch her business. Since then the demand for her pillows has been phenomenal!

Even in English, my words have a French sensibility.

Her Work
With careful attention to detail, Yasmine crafts each pillow from high quality satin fabric in a rainbow of rich jewel and frothy sherbet colours. Messages and images are silk-screened in black and contrasting colours. For added whimsy, some designs are given a trim of saucey black fringe.
