the Artist
Decorative
artist Debra Gould captures a passion for colour in her collection
of handpainted floorcloths, wall hangings, table art, jewellery/treasure
boxes and framed mirrors.
Debra
studied art in Montreal and Victoria, and silversmithing in
Mexico and Toronto. Then, while living on Salt Spring Island,
she became captivated by floorcloths -- a functional art form
dating back to the 1700s. As her work developed, she began
to add other decorative accents to her collections. She now
works full time designing, painting and marketing her contemporary
creations. No two pieces are exactly alike and all are signed
originals.
Debra's
handpainted works grace the walls, floors and tables of homes
in the U.S., Canada and Australia. We look forward to featuring
more of her wonderful designs including floorcloths, table
art, and pillows!
